Our Key Staff
On qualification as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature of England and Wales, Tony joined Denton Hall in 1986, where he worked on commercial property and development transactions. He moved over to specialise in construction law and PPP’s from 1993. In 1998 he moved to Eversheds to set up and lead the non-contentious construction team.
In October 2000 he joined Nabarro Nathanson, Projects Department, specialising in PFI, PPP, concessions, Outsourcing, Infrastructure and Construction Projects.
In August 2004 he joined the Projects Department of International Law firm Simmons & Simmons, leaving in April 2007 to set up Farne Project Consultancy. He joined International US Law Firm Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt and Mosle as a Partner in June 2011 and resumed his private practice in November 2012.
Tony is a Lead Specialist in the United Nations PPP Team of Specialists, has served as the Head of the United Nations PPP Readiness Task Force is Chairman of PPP Experts Limited and Head of the Legal Department of Altra Capital. He is also an Associate Expert of UNDP Asia Pacific and Patron of the Charity HEART (Helping Empower Africa to Regenerate Together). In addition to his Project Advisory Practice, He conducts capacity building training and lectures extensively on PPP related topics.
Chief Executive Officer
Sadak Choudhury is a Founder and CEO of PPP Experts. Sadak brings more than 12 years of commercial and management consultancy experience to the advisory mandates. More recently, Sadak has assisted regional and national governments to develop PPP programs in order to facilitate private sector investment across Asia, Europe and Africa. Sadak holds an Aeronautical Engineering degree (BSc) from London City University.
Jonathan Barnes, Managing Director of PPP Experts, has more than 20 years of advisory experience, focusing on structuring, managing and procuring of major infrastructure projects, public private partnerships, concessions and privatizations across all sectors.
Since 2005 Jonathan has focused on infrastructure transactions in the Middle East, leading teams, advising clients and undertaking projects in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Jonathan moved to Saudi Arabia in 2009 and has established teams focused on advising on PPP and concessions projects. His key clients include:- Arriyadh Development Authority, King Abdullah Economic City, SAPTCO, Saudi Binladin Group, GACA and Jeddah Metro.
Prior to his advisory career, Jonathan was an aerospace engineer for BAE SYSTEMS in the United Kingdom. His experience includes project management roles on the Tornado, Eurofighter and Harrier combat aircraft programmes.
Director of Training
Experienced Infrastructure and Project Finance professional with over 10 years’ track record of successful financial structuring, advisory and management of major projects in transportation, utilities, healthcare, education and other infrastructure sectors across vast geographies, particularly in emerging markets.
Strong expertise in deal financing and capital markets, including debt, equity investments, bonds, institutional investors, etc. In-depth knowledge of PPPs, demonstrated in leading MLA mandates on international award-winning transactions. Creative thinker, passionate about all aspects of infrastructure projects; reseacher, lecturer and writer with publications on Infrastructure and Mega Projects, currently reading Major Programme Management at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
